Managing Partner

Mike Arias is the founding and managing partner of Arias Sanguinetti Wang & Torrijos LLP.  He is the 2018 President of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA) and President-Elect of the Consumer Attorneys Association of California (CAOC).  During his nearly 35-year career, he has litigated and tried matters throughout the United States, in both state and federal court.  He has served as lead, co-lead or liaison counsel in well over 100 class and mass tort actions.  His trial experience is as diverse as the firm’s practice.  His last ten trials have included serious personal injury, wrongful death, employment, consumer class actions and mass wage and hour claims. He has recently resolved several class actions and multiple plaintiff matters involving antitrust, toxic torts, consumer, wage and hour, environmental issues and product liability.  During his career, he has resolved hundreds of matters, resulting in hundreds of millions of dollars in recovery for the firm’s clients.

Mr. Arias is a Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and was selected a 2018 California Top Plaintiff Lawyer by the Daily Journal.  Mr. Arias is admitted to practice law in California, New York, New Jersey and the District of Columbia.  He also is admitted before numerous federal courts throughout the country.  He holds an “AV” rating by Martindale-Hubbell. The “AV” rating is the highest rating given and is awarded only upon reaching “heights” of professional excellence, both in terms of legal ability and ethical standards. He has also been selected annually as a Southern California Super Lawyer, an honor reserved for the top 5% of attorneys practicing in Southern California.

Elise R. Sanguinetti

Partner

Elise Sanguinetti is a founding partner at Arias Sanguinetti Wang & Torrijos LLP with offices in Oakland, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Montreal.  Ms. Sanguinetti’s main focus of expertise is serious injury, wrongful death cases, civil appeals and legal malpractice. She exclusively represents plaintiffs in civil litigation, and holds an AV rating with Martindale-Hubbell and has been named a California Super Lawyer every year since becoming eligible.  The last four years Elise was named one of the Top 50 Women Lawyers in the Bay Area.

Elise graduated from the University of San Francisco School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.).  She was admitted into the California state bar in 1997. When not in the courtroom, she is a frequent speaker at seminars and writes articles that are featured in various legal publications.  Her copious amount of work has been recognized with numerous awards and honors including the prestigious, Joe Tonahill Award from the American Association of Justice.

Arnold C. Wang

Partner

Arnold C. Wang is a partner of Arias Sanguinetti Wang & Torrijos LLP. The focus of Mr. Wang’s practice is class actions, toxic tort, personal injury cases, and employment matters. He has served as class counsel in state and federal courts and has obtained multi-million-dollar settlements in numerous cases. Mr. Wang has been named a California Super Lawyer multiple times.

Mr. Wang graduated cum laude from UCLA, receiving Bachelor of Arts degrees in both East Asian Studies and Economics.  He received his Juris Doctor degree and a certificate in dispute resolution from Pepperdine University – School of Law. Mr. Wang was admitted into the California state bar in 1999.

Mr. Wang is an active volunteer in the community and has been a public speaker for more than twenty years. He is a Charter Director of the Temple City Centennial Lions Club.

Alfredo Torrijos

Partner

Alfredo Torrijos is a partner of Arias Sanguinetti Wang & Torrijos LLP.  Mr. Torrijos prosecutes both individual and class actions in state and federal court, focusing on complex litigation matters in breach of contract, employment, consumer fraud, bad faith insurance, intellectual property and technology law.

Mr. Torrijos has significant experience in technology related litigation, intellectual property law and class actions.  Mr. Torrijos has handled class actions through trial and appeal and has successfully represented consumers in class actions against some of the biggest technology and insurance companies in the country, including: Google, Yahoo!, CitySearch, Network Solutions, Nationwide Insurance, Progressive and State Farm.  In addition, Mr. Torrijos has represented hundreds of individuals in their bad faith claims against insurance companies such as Allstate, 21st Century, Farmers, and State Farm. Mr. Torrijos also represents employees both in individual matters and in class actions involving companies such as Commerce Casino, Papa John’s, Dollar Tree and Safeway.  In addition to his class action and commercial litigation experience, Mr. Torrijos also maintains a strong appellate practice, having written and argued dozens of appellate briefs, many of which resulted in reversals of the trial court.  Among the opinions he has helped publish are: Cordova v. 21st Century Ins. Co., 129 Cal.App.4th 89 (2005); Johnson v. GlaxoSmithKline, Inc., 166 Cal.App.4th 1497 (2008); Hughes v. Progressive Direct Insurance Company, 196 Cal.App.4th 754 (2011) (petition for review granted on Sept. 28, 2011 and review dismissed on Sept. 11, 2013); Johnson v. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., 544 F. App’x 696, 698 (9th Cir. 2013); and Safeway, Inc. v. Superior Court of Los Angeles, 238 Cal.App.4th 1138 (2015) (review denied Oct. 21, 2015).

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Torrijos worked for Litton Industries as a staff accountant in the company’s corporate financial consolidations and reporting department.  Mr. Torrijos was subsequently promoted and placed in charge of designing, programming and implementing the transition of the company’s financial consolidation system from a legacy mainframe platform to a client/server system.  Mr. Torrijos has significant experience in designing databases, stored procedures, reports, and data input interfaces using Microsoft SQL server, Visual Basic, and C#.  In addition, Mr. Torrijos has developed and programmed enterprise software using Visual Basic .NET, C# and C++.  Following law school, Mr. Torrijos worked as a Management Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he focused on the telecommunications, pharmaceutical, utilities and consumer sectors and on projects involving strategy development, organization/change management and cost management.

Mr. Torrijos received his Juris Doctor degree from Stanford Law School in 2001 and graduated summa cum laude from California State University, Northridge where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance.

Mr. Torrijos is fluent in Spanish.

Gregg A. Hubley

Gregg Hubley is a partner at Arias Sanguinetti Wang & Torrijos LLP in the Las Vegas, Nevada, office.  Gregg has been practicing law for almost 20 years, and represents clients in civil lawsuits in state and federal court. Gregg has tried hundreds of cases, including medical malpractice matters, personal injury lawsuits, and a class action trial that resulted in a multi-million dollar verdict. Gregg has also represented business owners and large financial institutions in business litigation disputes involving hundreds of millions of dollars in assets.

Gregg graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Northern Illinois University. He completed law school at University of Illinois College of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.). Gregg was admitted to the Nevada state bar in 2001.  Outside of the courtroom, Gregg is married and is a member of, and contributor to, clubs and organizations at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. He also teaches Continuing Legal Education classes to other attorneys.

David Belasco

Mr. Belasco’s areas of expertise include various areas of manufacturing and product design with particular emphasis in computer systems hardware and software development as well as plastics and packaging technology. His areas of practice include patent prosecution, trademark and copyright matters, licensing and related litigation. He is fluent in French. Mr. Belasco has been involved in major litigation involving patents, trademarks and copyrights relating to the lighting industry. This litigation has involved recent changes in Trademark law and has been appealed to the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a co-author of an article, published in The Daily Journal, regarding interpretation of these changes in the law. For 7 years prior to forming Belasco Jacobs & Townsley, LLP, Mr. Belasco was an associate with the law firm of Beehler and Pavitt.

Eugene Feldman

Eugene Feldman is of counsel at Arias Sanguinetti Wang & Torrijos LLP with offices in Oakland, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Montreal.  Mr. Feldman’s main focus of expertise is disability discrimination litigation arising under the ADA, the California Fair Employment & Housing Act, the Unruh Act and the Disabled Persons Act. He exclusively represents plaintiffs in civil litigation.

Erika Glenn

Of-Counsel

Ms. Glenn handles matters involving personal injury and pharmaceutical drug cases.  Ms. Glenn’s prior experience also includes Immigration and Nationality Law.

Ms. Glenn received her Juris Doctorate degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University located in Houston, Texas.  During her tenure at Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Erika co-founded the Thurgood Marshall School of Law Journal on Gender, Race, and Justice, and competed in the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.  Ms. Glenn was also published in the Harvard Latino Law Review as a law student, and worked as a Student Attorney in the Immigration Law Clinic at Thurgood Marshall School of Law.

Ms. Glenn received her Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication Studies with a minor in Spanish at Kent State University.  She also earned a Master of Science degree in Higher Education Administration at Florida International University.

Ms. Glenn is very active in the Houston community and volunteers as a Pro Bono Immigration Attorney for several non-profit organizations in Houston, Texas.  Ms. Glenn also holds several positions within the Section of Litigation for the American Bar Association.  She is a Co-Web Editor for the Minority Trial Lawyer Newsletter and a Section Editor for the Pro-Bono Champion Newsletter.

Jamie Goldstein

Jamie Goldstein began her practice in Chicago, Illinois in 2005.  She relocated to California and joined Arias Sanguinetti Wang & Torrijos in 2015, where she continues to focus her practice in the areas of wrongful death, personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability, and mass torts.  Throughout her career Ms. Goldstein has handled numerous complex litigation matters and has tried cases resulting in multi-million dollar verdicts.

Andrea Grass

Andrea Grass received a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm., with great distinction) from Concordia University, John Molson School of Business (2004) and a Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.) and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from McGill University (2008). Andrea was called to four bars: 2009 (New York), 2012 (Quebec), 2013 (Ontario), and 2015 (California). Ms. Grass’ practice is devoted primarily to plaintiff’s class action work (consumer protection, antitrust, drug, and product liability). Ms. Grass has appeared numerous times before the Quebec Court of Appeal, the Superior Court of Quebec, and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

Prior to devoting her practice to plaintiff’s class action work, Andrea worked as an intern at the Capital Post Conviction Project of Louisiana in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she represented death-sentenced inmates in post-conviction proceedings after their direct appeals had been affirmed.

Ms. Grass holds a Civil Litigation Skills Certificate and an Alternative Dispute Resolution Skills Certificate from the Advocates’ Society.

Craig Momita

Of-Counsel

Craig S. Momita is Of Counsel at Arias Sanguinetti Wang & Torrijos LLP.  Mr. Momita prosecutes individual and class actions in state and federal court, primarily in the areas of consumer rights, wage and hour, discrimination, and employment. He also handles insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, premises liability, personal injury, toxic tort and construction matters.

Before joining Arias Sanguinetti Wang & Torrijos LLP, Mr. Momita spent several years practicing civil litigation with Daniels, Fine, Israel & Schonbuch in Century City primarily in the areas of insurance coverage and plaintiffs’ class action and individual action matters involving major national retailers.

Mr. Momita graduated from University of San Francisco Law School where he obtained American Jurisprudence Awards in Civil Procedure and Bankruptcy.  He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Mr. Momita is admitted to practice law in both state and federal courts in California and is a member of the American Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association and the State Bar of California.

Kate Harvey Lee

Associate

Kate Harvey-Lee is a senior trial associate at Arias, Sanguinetti, Wang & Torrijos and focuses her practice on complex litigation involving catastrophic personal injury or wrongful death, with particular emphasis on commercial transportation accidents. She has over 16 years of experience handling difficult cases, including mass disasters, truck and bus crashes, premises liability, wrongful death and spinal cord and traumatic brain injury cases.

Kate earned her undergraduate degree with University Honors in Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and her law degree from Whittier Law School, where she graduated summa cum laude.

In law school, Kate was a clerk in the chambers of Justice Earl Johnson, Jr., with the California Second District Court of Appeals and led competitive teams for both the Moot Court and Trial Advocacy Honors boards.

After law school, Kate has represented plaintiffs in civil litigation at some of California’s most prestigious plaintiffs’ firms, focusing primarily on issues of automotive and transportation safety. She has been recognized as a Super Lawyer every year since 2014 and has been selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® every year since 2013. She has published numerous articles and lectured at consumer attorney forums on issues related to handling complex personal injury litigation.

Norton R. Townsley

Norton R. Townsley is Of Counsel to Arias Sanguinetti Wang & Torrijos LLP.  He practices mainly in the area of patent and trademark prosecution.

Before beginning his practice as a patent attorney, he worked for over 25 years in the Southern California aerospace industry.

Mr. Townsley is experienced with chemicals, fiberglass, plastics, adhesives, metal cleaning, metal finishing, standard hardware, materials testing, technical management, building trades, mechanical devices, electrical devices, and computer technology and programming.

Born in England, Mr. Townsley earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of California at Los Angeles and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of West Los Angeles.

Mr. Townsley is admitted to the State Bar of California, licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and is also a California Licensed Professional Engineer and trained as a mediator. He was a founding member of Belasco, Jacobs and Townsley, LLP.
