M. Anthony Jenkins is Trial Counsel at Arias Sanguinetti Trial Lawyers in the firm’s Southern California office, where he represents clients in complex civil litigation. His practice focuses on consumer protection and wage-and-hour class actions in both state and federal courts, and he has been appointed class counsel in numerous cases throughout his career. Anthony handles a wide range of consumer class actions involving false advertising, unfair competition, automotive defects, privacy violations, electronic consent, and other deceptive business practices. His employment practice includes wage-and-hour class actions and representative actions involving unpaid wages, meal and rest break violations, wage statement violations, and other workplace misconduct.
One matter that reflects Anthony’s approach involved a nationwide class action against Compass Group USA on behalf of consumers who were charged more than the displayed price when using a credit, debit, or prepaid card at Canteen vending machines. Arias Sanguinetti helped secure a $6.94 million settlement resolving claims that the company failed to disclose these card surcharges, resulting in millions of consumers unknowingly paying more than the advertised price for everyday purchases.
For Anthony, the case illustrates an important principle: even small, hidden charges can cause widespread harm when repeated across millions of transactions. He believes class actions give ordinary consumers the ability to challenge business practices that would otherwise go unchecked, creating accountability and meaningful change that extends far beyond any individual recovery.
Prior to joining Arias Sanguinetti, Anthony spent nearly 15 years at a prominent Los Angeles employment law firm where he tried several cases to verdict, securing judgments exceeding $2.6 million and negotiating settlements totaling more than $9 million.
Anthony earned his Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School, where he received the Exceptional Achievement Award in the Study of White-Collar Crime. He also holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from San Diego State University.
He is a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), and Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA).
