Alex Work

Alexandra R. Work is an Associate with Arias Sanguinetti Trial Lawyers in the Southern California office. She brings a unique combination of litigation experience, business acumen, and legal technology innovation to her practice. Alex practices in the areas of Personal Injury, Catastrophic Injury, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Premises Liability, and Wrongful Death. Since entering practice, she has quickly developed substantial litigation experience, managing a docket of approximately 90 active cases, arguing motions in California courts, handling discovery disputes, participating in mediations, and defending depositions. Before joining Arias Sanguinetti, Alex served as a law and motion attorney at a boutique plaintiff firm where she regularly drafted and argued demurrers, motions to strike, motions to compel, and oppositions in both California Superior Courts and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

Alex’s background also includes significant criminal defense experience. She worked on matters involving capital murder, federal white-collar crime, fraud, bribery, robbery, and other serious criminal allegations. Her responsibilities included trial preparation, witness development, appellate briefing, sentencing memoranda, focus group participation, and jury selection strategy. She was involved in preparation related to proceedings in State v. Robert Durst and worked extensively on federal habeas matters involving death row prisoners through the Office of the Federal Public Defender. Alex also worked on the nationwide Syngenta corn class action litigation, including the first class-wide bellwether trial for Kansas farmers. The litigation involved millions of pages of discovery, hundreds of domestic and international depositions, and complex issues involving international law, politics and economics. The case ultimately resulted in a $1.51 billion settlement, one of the largest agricultural settlements in U.S. history.

A recognized early adopter of legal technology, Alex designed and implemented a sophisticated AI litigation agent consisting of more than 20 custom-built projects supported by extensive coding frameworks. The system improved firm efficiency, enhanced client communication, and contributed to stronger litigation and settlement outcomes. Her technical experience also includes large-scale document review, document coding, and using technology to analyze complex litigation materials.

Alex earned both her J.D. and M.B.A. from Boston College, following her undergraduate studies in Economics at the University of New Hampshire. While attending Boston College Law School, Alex worked with clients in both Boston Municipal Court and Boston Immigration Court helping to secure relief under the Convention Against Torture. She also served as an intern with the ACLU National Prison Project.

Whether representing injured plaintiffs or advocating for vulnerable individuals facing overwhelming legal challenges, Alex’s career has been defined by a commitment to fighting for those who need a strong voice and dedicated advocate. Outside of her practice, Alex enjoys time with family, discovering new vegan cuisine, spending time in nature, and caring for five bunnies.
