Aguirre v. AEG et al.
Case Synopsis
Arias Sanguinetti obtained a verdict on behalf of Angel Aguirre, a stagehand whose hand was severely crushed while working at the Rolling Loud Festival in Oakland. Mr. Aguirre was part of the crew responsible for stage breakdown following a performance by 21 Savage.
As the team worked into the evening, a forklift operator moved heavy equipment without confirming Mr. Aguirreโs location. The forks rose and crushed Mr. Aguirreโs hand before anyone realized what had happened. He passed out from the pain and was taken to the hospital with devastating injuries to his dominant hand.
Mr. Aguirre underwent multiple surgeries and was later diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), a debilitating condition that causes chronic pain and loss of function. He is no longer able to work in the profession he loved.
This verdict helps provide the resources Mr. Aguirre needs to continue his treatment and begin to rebuild his life after a preventable injury that should never have happened.
