Los Angeles, Ca. (June 26, 2019)– Arias Sanguinetti founding partners Mike Arias and Elise Sanguinetti have been named one of this year’s California Trailblazers by The Recorder. Mr. Arias was also recognized as one of the Daily Journal’s 2019 Top Plaintiff Lawyers.
As a California Trailblazer, Mr. Arias has represented those who have suffered catastrophic injuries, sexual harassment in the workplace and has litigated multiple class actions. He represented delivery drivers for the Sara Lee Corp. who claimed the company had misclassified them as contractors rather than employees. He recently settled with Sara Lee’s current owners for $14.5 million. As AAJ president, Ms. Sanguinetti has advocated for passage of the federal Forced Arbitration Injustice Repeal Act which would eliminate forced arbitration in civil disputes. She has also represented women who have been sexually assaulted by therapists at Massage Envy.
Mr. Arias was honored as one of this year’s Top Plaintiff Lawyers in California by the Daily Journal for his work including two class action lawsuits filed against the University of Southern California and its former employee Dr. George Tyndall. Mr. Arias also represented residents from 1,100 Sylmar and Granada Hills who sued the owners of the Sunshine Canyon Landfill for corporate misconduct, securing a $9.5 million win.
