In another major announcement by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration this morning, Tesla recalled nearly 2.2 million vehicles due to failure to meet regulatory requirements for font sizes on Tesla vehicle warning lights. What Other Recalls Are Tesla Vehicles Facing?
On February 2nd, 2024, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) upgraded their probe power steering issues in Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles from 2023. This follows the recall issued today by Tesla that recalled 2.2 million electric vehicles, including almost all its’ United States based vehicles because of an issue with the font size on warning lights. Warning lights, which appear on the dashboard, contain important safety information for the driver and must be clearly legible. The font size issue also includes the instrument panel for the brake and the parking and anti-lock system.
Two months ago, in December 2023, Tesla recalled 2.03 million vehicles to update the Autopilot technology that allows Tesla vehicles to drive autonomously. That recall came after several instances of catastrophic and fatal accidents involving Tesla vehicles and other motorists and pedestrians.
