Mike Arias, and Arnold Wang were named CAOC’s Consumer Attorneys of the Year for winning a settlement for former University of Southern California students who were sexually abused by the campus gynecologist.
Consumer Attorney of the Year is awarded to a CAOC member or members who significantly advanced the rights or safety of California consumers by achieving a noteworthy result in a case.
The attorneys obtained the largest known sexual abuse settlement with a university in U.S. history on behalf of more than 700 survivors of Tyndall’s mistreatment. The litigation caused changes at USC regarding how they respond to such complaints and has had an impact across the U.S. as it has resonated across institutions nationally.
