One of the newest attorneys at Arias Sanguinetti Wang & Team, Sahar Malek, made an appearance on NBC Los Angeles as a legal consultant on consumer laws and the terms and conditions as it relates to consumers in a story on a So-Cal couple who had a problem with the dog-sitting website Rover.
The couple hired a pet sitter to take care of their two dogs while they were away for a trip in Hawaii. The pet sitter who they chose off the Rover site had great ratings and the owners of the pets had a request that she walk the dog 3 times for 10-15 minutes a day.
When they came back from their trip one of the owners felt that something was off about their pets and they decided to check their doorbell camera to see if the pet sitter was following proper instruction. They noticed that the dog sitter did not follow proper instructions and did not walk the dog for 6 days in a row.
After realizing this the owners tried to get a refund from Rover. The site refused and claimed they were just a middle man that connects dog owners and dog sitters.
Attorney Sahar Malek claimed that under the terms and conditions of the Rover website they can simply “wash their hands,” from these types of situations.
