Jessica Cortez
Jessica Cortez is the Director of Technology & Associate Firm Administrator and at Arias Sanguinetti Trial Lawyers, working out of the firm’s Southern California office. She helps lead the firm’s technology strategy, operational systems, and administrative infrastructure, with a focus on building and improving the tools and processes that allow attorneys and staff to work effectively as the firm continues to grow.
Having spent more than two decades growing alongside Arias Sanguinetti, Jessica brings a depth of institutional knowledge that is central to her leadership. Since joining the firm in 2003, she has taken on progressively greater responsibilities while helping guide the organization through changes in technology, operations, staffing, and scale. That history gives her a distinctive perspective on how the firm’s needs have evolved and what its systems must be capable of supporting next.
Jessica works at the intersection of technology and law firm operations. She evaluates opportunities to improve efficiency, develops and refines workflows, helps implement technology across the organization, and works with attorneys and staff to ensure systems support the realities of their day-to-day work. Her role requires looking beyond individual tools to consider how information, people, processes, and technology function together across the firm.
A key part of Jessica’s approach is recognizing that successful technology implementation is ultimately about people. Introducing a new platform or process only creates value when it addresses a genuine need and teams understand how to incorporate it effectively into their work. She emphasizes practical implementation, collaboration, training, and adoption so that technology becomes an operational resource rather than an additional layer of complexity.
Her institutional knowledge also allows Jessica to provide continuity as the firm evolves. She understands not only how current systems operate, but the decisions and needs that shaped them. That perspective helps her distinguish between processes that remain valuable, those that need to evolve, and opportunities to build something new. As Associate Firm Administrator, she applies that same perspective more broadly to administrative and operational initiatives that support the organization. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
