Managing Partner Mike Arias was featured in the latest episode of the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) podcast, “Just Us for Justice.” The episode, titled “Courtroom Success with Arias Sanguinetti (feat. Mike Arias),” aired on November 13, 2024. The series, which debuted in 2023, covers a wide range of topics from updates to California legislation to key developments in the legal landscape.
The conversation centers on Mike’s approach to managing mass tort cases, which has been a speciality throughout his career. Mike explains his approach to handling mass tort litigation, emphasizing the importance of data gathering and organization. “It’s about more than just practicing law,” Mike says. “It’s about collecting and organizing massive amounts of data, using the latest technology to ensure accuracy, and making sure we have the manpower to execute it successfully.”
Mass Tort Litigation: A Data-Driven Approach
Mike emphasizes that he never assumes settlement is the only option. He clarifies that successful mass tort litigation follows two tracks: one focused on trial preparation and the other on settlement negotiations. This dual-track strategy ensures his clients are always prepared for both outcomes.
Throughout the podcast, Mike shares his 40+ years of experience in handling high-profile mass tort cases, with a special focus on sexual assault litigation. Mike’s work as co-liaison counsel on the case against disgraced gynecologist U.S.C. Dr. Goerge Tyndall resulted in an $852 settlement, which Mike describes as “one of the proudest moments” of his career.
