Before joining Arias Sanguinetti, Steven had his own practice. His work focused on enforcing California’s Cartwright Act and federal antitrust laws on behalf of consumers. Prior to establishing his own firm, he was in leadership at a class action litigation law firm in San Francisco. There, he led litigation and directed discovery and motion practice in large-scale multidistrict matters involving global technology manufacturers, employers, and pharmaceutical companies.
Steven has earned significant recognition for his work as a plaintiffs’ attorney and antitrust practitioner. The Daily Journal has recognized him as a “Top 100 Lawyer in California,” “Top Antitrust Lawyer,” and “Top Plaintiff Lawyer.” He has been named a “Titan of the Plaintiff’s Bar” by Law360. He has also received national recognition from Chambers, Best Lawyers, and Lawdragon, and has earned Martindale-Hubbell’s highest AV rating.
In addition to his litigation practice, Steven has served as an instructor to federal judges on the topic of law and economics and dedicated time to pro bono representation. He represented plaintiffs in federal court matters through the Bar Association of San Francisco’s Judicial Diversity Center Pro Bono Project, which has recognized him as “Outstanding Pro Bono Attorney of the Year.” His decades of experience as a trial lawyer, leader, and plaintiffs’ advocate inform his approach to protecting the rights of clients.
