On June 27, 2018 the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles celebrated the graduation of its fifth class of the Plaintiff Trial Academy. This year, 36 young trial lawyers successfully completed the program.
The participants attended 15 sessions over six weeks, 12 weekday evenings and three Saturdays, all in the CAALA Office Conference Center. The topics ranged from Pre-Trial Preparation to Post-Trial. LA Superior Court Presiding Judge Daniel Buckley spoke at the last session on Civility and What is a Good Trial Lawyer?
“The PTA program is one of the greatest services CAALA provides to members,” said Mike Arias, 2018 CAALA President and founding chair of the program. “The curriculum, knowledge, experience and support of the program helps train young trial lawyers, many of whom have already gone on to obtain great results for their clients as a result.”
In addition to Mr. Arias, the other co-chairs are Michael Cohen, Minh Nguyen, Christa Ramey and Doug Silverstein. The faculty includes Mr. Arias, Deborah Chang, David deRubertis, Maryann Gallagher, Arash Homampour, Bruce Broillet, Gary Dordick, Mike Alder, Geoff Wells, Jack Denove, Ricardo Echeverria, Jeff Ehrlich, Jill McDonell and Rahul Ravipudi.
The program is open only to CAALA members and takes place one time a year.
